1Who we are

Trynx (the Trynx app and the website trynx.in) is owned and run by Trynx Group Private Limited, a company registered in India. In this policy, "Trynx", "we", "us" and "our" mean Trynx Group Private Limited. "You" means the person using Trynx.

This policy follows Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

By creating a Trynx account, you agree to the collection and use of your information as explained here. Please also read our Terms of Service.

2What we collect

Information you give us

Your password is stored in a protected, scrambled form. No one at Trynx can read it.

Information collected when you use Trynx

• Location. Your exact (GPS) location while you record a Live GPS activity, look at the map, explore routes near you or see nearby places. Recording continues when your screen is off, and Android shows a notification the whole time it is recording. We do not collect your location when you are not using these features.
• Phone compass. To show which way you are facing on the map. We do not store it.
• Device and app details. Phone model, Android version, app version, language, time zone, IP address, crash reports and error logs. We use these to fix problems and keep Trynx secure.
• Notification ID. A code from your phone that lets us send the notifications you have turned on.

Steps and calories in the app are estimates. We calculate them from your distance, time, height and weight.

Payments

When you buy a Standard or Premium plan, Google Play handles the payment. We only receive your plan, the order ID and whether the payment worked. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.

What we do not collect

• We do not read your contacts, SMS messages or call logs.
• We do not use your microphone. Voice updates during an activity use your phone's own text-to-speech.
• We do not look at your photo gallery. We only receive the photos and videos you choose to add.
• We do not collect data from smartwatches or fitness bands at this time.

3Why we use your information

• To create your account and log you in with a one-time code sent to your email.
• To run the app's features: Live GPS, routes, workouts, exercises, progress charts, streaks, trophies and the Feed.
• To show your profile and posts to the people you choose.
• To send emails you need, such as login codes, security alerts and account changes.
• To send the notifications you have turned on, such as reminders and streak alerts.
• To manage your plan and subscription.
• To keep Trynx safe: to stop fraud, spam, fake accounts and misuse, and to apply our Terms of Service.
• To find and fix bugs and to improve the app. Where possible, we use information that does not show who you are.
• To follow the law and answer valid requests from government authorities.

We use your information based on the consent you give when you create your account and turn on permissions. You can take back your consent at any time (see section 9). We may also use information without consent where Indian law allows it, for example to follow a legal duty.

We will not send you marketing emails unless you agree to receive them.

4Who can see your information

Visible to other Trynx users

• Your profile: username, name, profile photo, bio, social links, followers and following counts, and your routes and trophies counts.
• Your posted activities: only the people you choose. For each activity you can pick "Everyone" or "Followers only". You can set the default in Settings, Privacy.
• Your routes: routes set to "Public" can be seen by others. Routes set to "Only me" are private.
• Your likes and comments: visible to people who can see that post.

Always private

Your email address, password, gender, date of birth, height, weight, saved (not posted) activities, settings and payment details are never shown to other users.

Heatmaps

Heatmaps on the map show popular paths by combining routes from many users. They never show names, profiles or single activities. If you do not want your activities to be part of heatmaps, write to hello@trynx.in and we will remove them.

Safety tip: activities often start or end at home. Think before posting them to "Everyone".

5Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted companies that help us run Trynx. They can use it only to do this work for us, and they must keep it safe.

We may also share information:

• When the law requires it, for example a court order or a valid request from a government authority in India.
• To protect the safety, rights or property of our users, the public or Trynx.
• If Trynx is merged with or bought by another company. Your information will stay protected under this policy, and we will tell you before anything changes.

6Where it is stored

Most of your data is stored on servers in Mumbai, India. Some of our service providers may process data outside India, for example Google Play and the map services. Indian law allows this, and we make sure your data stays protected wherever it is processed.

7How long we keep it

• We keep your information for as long as your account is active.
• When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days. Copies in our backups are removed within 90 days.
• Some records must be kept longer by law. We keep payment and tax records for up to 8 years, and security logs for up to 180 days.
• We may keep total numbers that cannot identify you, for example "number of runs recorded this month".

8How we keep it safe

• All data between the app and our servers travels in encrypted form (HTTPS).
• Your data is stored in encrypted form by our service providers.
• Our database is set up so that each user can only reach their own private data.
• Only a few trusted team members can access our systems, and every account is protected with two-step login.
• Login codes work only once and expire after 10 minutes.

No system is 100% safe. If a data breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

You can help too: keep your email account safe, and never share your login code with anyone. Trynx will never ask you for it.

9Your rights and choices

Under Indian law, you have the right to:

• Know: ask for a summary of the personal data we have about you and how we use it.
• Correct: fix or update your information. You can edit most of it yourself in Settings, Personal Info.
• Delete: delete your account and data (see section 13).
• Take back consent: you can do this at any time. Some features may stop working.
• Complain: raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nominate: choose a person who can use these rights for you if you pass away or are unable to.

To use any of these rights, email hello@trynx.in from the email address linked to your account. We will reply within 24 hours and complete your request within 15 days.

Choices inside the app

• Turn app permissions on or off in Settings, Device permissions, or in your phone settings.
• Choose which notifications you get in Settings, Notifications.
• Choose who sees each activity: Everyone or Followers only.

10App permissions

Trynx asks for these Android permissions only when a feature needs them. You can say no or turn them off later.

11Age limit

Trynx is for people aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has made an account, please email hello@trynx.in and we will delete it.

12This website

The website trynx.in does not use cookies, ads or tracking tools. Cloudflare, which runs the website, may record IP addresses for a short time to protect the site from attacks.

If you email us (for example, to get notified at launch), we use your email address only to reply to you.

13Delete your account

You can delete your Trynx account and data at any time.

From the app

1. Open Trynx and go to your Profile.
2. Tap the settings icon (gear) at the top.
3. Tap Delete Your Account.
4. Choose a reason, then type delete to confirm.

Without the app

Email hello@trynx.in from the email address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my Trynx account". We will confirm it is you and delete your account within 7 days.

What gets deleted

Your profile, activities, routes, photos, videos, posts, comments, likes, follows and settings. Your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days.

What we keep

Payment records (plan, order ID, amount and date) for up to 8 years, because tax law requires it, and security logs for up to 180 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid plan. Cancel it first in the Google Play Store: Profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Trynx, Cancel.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Trynx changes or when the law changes. We will always show the new date at the top of this page. If the change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
